Abstract

Monthly reports, correspondence, and memos relating to the activities of the Registration Bureau, also known as the Social Service Exchange, which was started in 1924 to maintain a central registration of all persons admitted to state institutions or receiving aid or support from other social service agencies--state, county, local, and perhaps private. Pearl Putnam was the bureau's secretary during these years.
